Although no-one knows the exact date when the stargate worlds beta testing will start, the developers have already got the game setup on the server and have hinted at a spring 2008 beta.

A beta test is a way for the sgw developers to allow testing of the MMORPG in real life circumstances, there are two type's of beta, open beta and closed beta. Closed beta is where not everyone is invited to play this usually occurs first and the developers will invite people to play the game, usually thi will allow plaers to sumit any bugs they find so that the game can be perfected. The next kind of beta is an open beta this is where they will allow a larger number of people from the public to sign up and playthe game for a set period of time, this will usually be the final testing of the game so they can put strain on the servers and ensure that all the kinks are ironed out before the game is released.

To put this simply, we don't know...no-one does, the developers will pick who they want to beta stargate worlds, however it has been hinted that people from the official sgw community will be informed first when the beta slots open, so head over to the official stargate worlds forums and start to participate ... there are a bunch of friendly people over there and even quite a few pre-game guilds have been started
